Employment Opportunities with the Thames Valley District School Board

Teachers' employment opportunities with the Thames Valley District School Board are listed on the website of the Apply To Teach Network when the board is hiring externally. External hiring is the last step in the TVDSB staffing process. After all current contract teachers have been appropriately placed for the following school year, any remaining vacancies are first advertised internally to part-time teachers who wish to increase their entitlement and to Occasional Teachers and Continuing Education Teachers and Instructors who wish to apply for contract jobs. Any remaining vacancies after these steps have taken place are advertised on the Apply to Teach Network.

Information about Pink-Listings

When a bargaining unit moves to sanctions, whether that be a form of work to rule or a full strike, a “pink letter” will be issued. These will be sent to all OSSTF worksites, the district school board of the bargaining unit beginning the sanction, and to Faculties of Education. They will be posted on the provincial and District 11 websites, and media advisories will be issued.

  • OSSTF sends out an information bulletin, often referred to as a "pink letter" as a notification that sanctions are in place against a particular school board. Members who do not abide by the bulletin are subject to discipline procedures set out in union bylaws. New teachers would be in violation of the pink letter only upon acceptance of a position.
  • This action is designed to put pressure on local school boards to negotiate collective agreements that will improve your future working conditions and salaries in teaching. Your understanding and support is appreciated.
  • OSSTF Pink Listings As of March 3, 2008 there are no pink-listings against any public school boards by any Teachers' Bargaining Units.
