OSSTF. Thames Valley Ontario Secondary School Teacher's Federation - District 11

The Communications / Excellence in Education Committee judge the District Level Entries for the annual OSSTF Marion Drysdale Contest, and provide, if necessary, logistical support for the annual Bishop Townshend Awards of Educator Excellence.

Communications / Excellence in Education Committee Mandate

• 7.3.1Composition
  • 7.3.1.1up to one representative from each Workplace.
• 7.3.2 Terms of Reference - The Communications and Excellence in Education Committee shall:
  • 7.3.2.1administer the District level of the annual Marion Drysdale Awards contest, which includes: (AGM 2003)
    • 7.3.2.1.1judging the entries submitted to the District level of the contest, (AGM 2003)
    • 7.3.2.1.2 forwarding the District winning entries to the provincial office, (AGM 2003)
    • 7.3.2.1.3ordering medallions for presentation to the school level winners and trophies for presentation to the District level winners; (AGM 2003)
  • 7.3.2.2budget funding for the Bishop Townshend Awards of Educator Excellence and assist the Bargaining Unit Awards committee(s), if necessary, with administering this award; (AGM 2003)
  • 7.3.2.3 administer Communications/Excellence in Education initiatives, including: (AGM 2003)
    • 7.3.2.3.1making submissions to the provincial office for the AMIE Award and Ray Connolly Award for Journalism, if appropriate, (AGM 2003)
    • 7.3.2.3.2other projects assigned or approved by the District Executive Council, (AGM 2003)
    • 7.3.2.3.3 the purchase of promotional items, if appropriate; (AGM 2003)
  • 7.3.2.4support the Annual Dinner to honour the retiring members of the District by: (AGM 2003)
    • 7.3.2.4.1 budgeting funds for the dinner, (AGM 2003)
    • 7.3.2.4.2 producing the Retirement Booklet to be distributed to retiring members; (AGM 2003)
  • 7.3.2.5recommend to the District Executive Council, candidate(s) for the position of Committee Chairperson for the following year, prior to the June District Executive Council meeting. (AGM 2003)
