Bishop Townshend Award
“ He believed that students must receive education in intellectual, physical, spiritual and social realms, if they are to live a more abundant life.”
District 11 Thames Valley Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation celebrated educator excellence on Thursday February 26th at our annual Bishop Townshend Awards Dinner. The Bishop Townshend Awards are jointly sponsored by the Anglican Diocese of Huron, OSSTF District 11 and the Thames Valley District School Board. The criteria for selection of recipients of this award are derived from Bishop Townshend’s philosophy of education. He believed that students must receive education in intellectual, physical, spiritual and social realms, if they are to live a more abundant life. The thirty-three recipients being recognized demonstrate excellence in these four areas. They have been nominated by their colleagues at each and every secondary school in Thames Valley. In addition to secondary teachers, the recipients include an Adult Education Instructor and a member of our Professional Student Services Personnel. This very celebratory evening was held at the London Convention Centre.
